The Futureheads have announced that double A-side ‘Meet Me Halfway/The No.1 Song In Heaven’ will be released in conjunction with their new acappella album Rant (Nul Records) on 2nd April.
The band transform The Black Eyed Peas’ single and the 1970s Sparks track into harmonious four-part acapellas.
Due to popular demand the North East quartet will now be extending their live tour, taking their acoustic and acapella tour down to Brighton’s Komedia on April 2nd.
When asked about the single choices, Ross Millard said: “We did The Black-Eyed Peas one, because Barry wouldn’t stop talking about it and singing that particular melody throughout the whole of the The Chaos tour.”
“I’m really proud of that one because it’s got more chops to it than a lot of the other ones. To me, it’s like dubstep without the beats. As for Sparks, I first heard that song in Barry and Dave’s parents’ kitchen just as we were starting The Futureheads.”
