Taylor Swift announces World Tour

Under 24 hours ago, the hotly anticipated news spread through the world.

This news was that shortly after her album had undoubtedly been played on repeat numerous times by her loyal fans and new ones alike.

The critically acclaimed fifth studio album topped iTunes’ sales charts in 95 countries on its release and was the highest selling first week release of 2014 in the US.

In the UK, the album debuted at no 1 in the official album charts, selling more than all the other albums in the top 5 combined, and selling more in its first week here than any other female artist’s album this year.

The first single off the album peaked at No. 1 in 64 countries on iTunes and has sold in excess of two million downloads in the U.S. alone.

It also peaked at No.1 on iTunes in the UK, spending three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the radio airplay charts, eleven consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the official singles chart, and nearing platinum certification.

The news is she has announced her world tour for 2015… Also in the title.

The announcement was big, as it should be for Ms. Tay Swift.

Yesterday morning, she was a guest on Good Morning America, where she told America – and ultimately the world – that she will be performing around eight countries which spans four continents including North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy and viral sensation Shawn Mendes will be supporting the global superstar.

The 1989 World Tour kicks off on the 20 May, 2015 in Louisiana, USA.

The UK leg of the tour will kick off on 23 June in Glasgow – the first ever time she has performed live in Scotland – followed by a gig at the Manchester Arena on 24 June.

She ends the UK part of the tour with a bang as she headlines Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park 2015 in London on 27 June.

Tickets for the Glasgow and Manchester shows will go on-sale to the general public at 9:30am on Friday 7 November, 2014 via AXS.com and Ticketmaster.co.uk.

Tickets for Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park 2015 will go on general sale at 9am on Monday 10 November.
