Liverpool-based rock and roll band Matchstickmen will release charity single “For No Reason” on February 27th to coincide with International STAND UP to Bullying Day.
International STAND UP to Bullying Day takes place across schools, workplaces, and organizations in 25 countries across the globe.
A percentage of the proceeds from “For No Reason” are being donated to The Cybersmile Foundation, a multi award-winning anti-cyberbullying non-profit organization committed to tackling all forms of online bullying and hate campaigns.
With powerful guitars and a riff that is instantly caught by your ears, “For No Reason” is a commanding single that will be with you for moments after you have listened to it. The lyrics are emotive, giving a sense of promise to listeners.
Lewis Wright, Matchstickmen’s lead vocalist and main lyricist, spoke about how he was personally affected by cyberbullying: “The subject matter of ‘For No Reason’ is about someone close to me being bullied and not being able to escape it because of the rise of social media and cyber-bullying.
“We wanted to bring the issue to people’s attention because it seems so much harder for kids now to when we were growing up.”
He added “We are so pleased to be working with The Cybersmile Foundation as they are committed to helping everyone realise their true potential by supporting those that are bullied online.
“Each person that buys the new single joins them in helping prepare this and future generations for a safe and positive digital future.”
“For No Reason” is the first single from the bands upcoming second album From Our Own Ashes.
Matchstickmen will be performing a headline show at The KrazyHouse nightclub in Liverpool on the day of release to launch the new single. Limited FREE* passes are available NOW for the event from Matchstickmen’s website store: http://www.matchstickmen-band.com
