American rapper Jay Z revealed yesterday on his website Life and Times that his upcoming album cover is being displayed at Salisbury Cathedral in the UK.
His new album Magna Carta Holy Grail will be on display at the Cathedral’s Chapter House until the end of July, positioned next to one of the original 1215 Magna Carta documents.
The album cover portrays two statues, with the rappers name struck through the middle of the artwork in bold black font.
June Osbourne the Dean of Salisbury said she was ‘delighted’ Jay Z had chosen Salisbury Cathedral to exhibit his new album artwork.
“Jay Z is creating a huge awareness of this historic document and its modern significance to a huge audience. We hope to welcome many of his fans here this summer to see the artwork” she told the Salisbury Journal.
The album will be released on the Monday 8th July on Roc Nation Records/Universal.
The track list includes Picasso Baby, Heaven, Versus, Tom Ford, Beach is Better, F*** with me you I got it, Oceans, F.U.T.W, Part II (On the run), BBC, La Familia, Jay-Z Blue and Nickles & Dimes.
