Music fans across the world shook their fists at the sky last Febuary when Jack and Meg White announced the split of pioneering rock group, The White Stripes.

But this Febuary doesn’t have to be quite so cold and lonely, as the former Dead Weather and Raconteurs man has announced the release of his first solo album.

Blunderbuss will be released on Jack’s own Thrid Man Records on April 24th 2012 and the Detroit rocker had this to say about the upcoming release;

‘I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.’

Love Interruption is the first song off the new album and will be released as a limited 7″ vinyl single, with non-album track Machine Gun Silhouette on 7th February. You can pre-order your copy at www.thirdmanrecords.com.
