Dark Black, the initial release of Kristina Train’s new album is set for November 5, and her title track offers a unique vintage feel which is sure to set Train apart from many of her contemporaries.
She is currently touring with Amy Macdonald and has already been hailed as ‘a compelling new talent.’
Her vocals have been likened to greats Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and Dusty Springfield, with her upcoming album promising much of the same.
The single Dark Black has a distinctly haunting effect and is translated perfectly with the accompanying Gothic style video.
Lyrics ‘Now the sky’s are darkened, the white clouds turn to grey, what a way to break a heart,’ are incredibly emotive and offer a deeper insight when heard in her passionate tones.
Kristina has claimed that when approaching writing and performing, she tries to make the notes themselves illustrate life. This results in a lifetime of emotions which are packed into the 12 track album.
You can catch her on November 6 at the Royal Festival Hall.
