Remaining a force to be reckoned with in pop music, Hailee Steinfeld shares the new video for her funky track ‘Coast’. You can watch it first on Facebook.
The latest track from Steinfeld, originally released in July 2022, is the star’s first musical release in two years that not only shows off her dazzling vocals but also provides feel-good beats that create the perfect summer soundtrack.
Speaking exclusively to Rolling Stone UK, Steinfeld explains how she was influenced by her Californian roots. “I am so happy to finally be able to share Coast with the world,” she says. “This song is deeply personal to me and was influenced by my California roots and the music I grew up listening to with my family.”
The video, which comes four months after the single was released, not only features and stars Anderson .Paak but is also directed by him. Touching on their collaboration, Steinfeld added: “The only artist I envisioned collaborating with on this track was my friend, Anderson .Paak. Knowing he loved the song enough to lend his genius to it is absolutely surreal, and I am forever grateful to have his support.”
Echoing her excitement for the joyous track, .Paak touched on the reasons he took the project on board. “I was honestly in shock at how fire it was!” he exclaims. “You don’t hear too many pop records with an infectious groove like that. It’s a great summer song and I think our voices surprisingly blend together really well.”
