With a total of nine members, Gentleman’s Dub Club is probably the biggest band in Britain with a large following to match. On Soundcloud alone the band’s following is 10,321 and counting. Not only is the quantity of the band interesting, the experience they create is unforgettable.

With reggae vibes mixed with bouncing bass lines that was the soundtrack to a late night beach party, “Unbreakable” featuring Solo Banton was their smash summer single. Gentleman’s Dub Club was under pressure to release an autumnal song that would be as big. Cue “Pressure” alongside their undersized upcoming tour this month. We want the Gents to visit us northerners too!

“Pressure” combines all the key elements that the Gents strive to create: extra effects, synth smears, a hook to remember, outstanding instrumental playing and roots in reggae and steppas dub. Not only are the sounds from the musical mechanisms marvellous, but the harmonies of the lads’ voices are great too.

Gentleman’s Dub Club started from the bottom – or underground – as they formed in the basement of 44 Headingley Lane, Leeds. The band has worked their way up the bass music ladder by playing at festivals: from Goa to Glasto, Bestival to V Festival, Secret Garden Party to Croatia’s Outlook Festival, and a few more in between.

These regular invites to top festivals are due to the exhilarating and exciting live performances the Gents give. David Rodigan MBE of BBC Radio 1XTRA declares, “When I talk about energy, commitment, vibes and excitement – you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen Gentleman’s Dub Club.”

Huw Edwards and Rob Da Bank of BBC Radio One are also huge fans alongside Don Letts from BBC Radio 6 music.

Gentleman’s Dub Club’s music has securely remained within the top forty of the album reggae charts since release. We doubt that “Pressure” will be any different.

“Pressure” will be released by Ranking Records on 27th October.
