It is that time of year again, the August bank holiday is a mere stone’s throw away and anticipation builds for the biggest event in the dance calendar, Creamfields.
The festival has sold out again this year as the dance fraternity flock to see the likes of Tiesto, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Armin Van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, Leftfield and many more.
Purple Revolver will be on site again in the idyllic Cheshire countryside bringing you all the latest news and reviews, and here are a few inside tips for all you Creamfields first timers.
If you do one thing at the festival this year, make sure you get to the Swedish House Mafia tent for an all-out sonic assault from dances most revered triumvirate of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.
The Swedes smashed the proverbial roof off their arena last year and they are set to do it all again as they host their very own Swedish House Mafia Arena. The lads will be supported by the likes of Dirty South, Kim Fai, AN21, Afro Jack, Max Vangeli and Anton Powers.
Dance legends Leftfield are also a must see after reforming early this year for a headline slot at the festival. The dance pioneers paved the way for the likes of Underworld, The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers in the 90’s with their seminal album Leftism.
The duo’s live performances have gone down in dance folk lore as some of the most visually spectacular and loudest shows ever, so find a spec early for this one and expect a good ear-drubbing.
Purple Revolver will also be bringing you live interviews and video diaries from inside the CALM Tent. CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) have been providing specialist support to vulnerable men via their hot-line and website for a number of years.
