Liverpool based ‘A Ray of Charles’ prove to be much more than a run of the mill tribute band and will perform their latest homage to the great Ray Charles in Leaf this month.
Russell Christian, famed for Liverpool band The Christians, fronts the performance and embodies all the qualities of the late musician, whilst adding his own unique flair to the instantly recognisable songs.
Supported by the brilliant backing band and ‘The Rayettes,’ a tribute to Ray Charles’ original backing singers, this is an evening you do not want to miss.
After their hugely successful event which saw them joining forces with Brazilica Fringe Festival to present ‘Swingova Rhythms,’ A Ray of Charles proved they are a force to be reckoned with.
The act has been five years in the making and their dedication at creating a feel good evening is hugely evident from the outset.
Within the settings of the vibrant Leaf on Bold Street, the band are sure to have you singing along to classics ‘I’ve got a woman’ and ‘Georgia on my Mind’ and leave you feeling that 1950’s soul music is truly alive and well within Liverpool.
The event kicks off at 7pm, 27th July at Leaf, Bold Street.
Tickets are available via www.arayofcharles.co.uk. £10 OTD/7 Advance.
