While Bond film 23 has been put on ice, leading man Daniel Craig doesn’t look to be short of work while he waits.

Speculation is rife as to who will take the leading male role of disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist in David Fincher’s reworking of the Swedish hit, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and so far the Bond beefcake has been the most promising.

Natalie Portman and Carey Mulligan have both been linked with the role of leading goth girl, Lisbeth but no final casting decision has been made yet.

After the success of the Swedish film, David Fincher jumped on an English- language remaking of the film that he is insisting will be a completely dffernt take on the material.

No matter how much they tweak the story to suit an action-thirsty american audience, the casting of Lisbeth and Mikael will be crucial to Fincher’s success.

The other two books in Steig Larssons best selling Millenium triliogy are currently being adapted to screen (in Swedish) with Noomi Repace reprising her role as the brooding hacker, Lisbeth Slander.
