Purple Revolver celebrated Hallowe’en by teaming up with FACT to create Liverpool’s largest zombie flash mob as a ‘Swarm of the Dead’ invaded the art gallery and cinema in the city centre.

FACT’s ground floor witnessed an infestation by a 150 strong walking dead army, with an actor planted in the queue eaten alive by the undead. The unsuspecting members of the public were guided to safety.

All ‘survivors’ of FACT”s zombie apocalypse were treated to a surprise after party at Lucha Libre and Maya – and received passes to Liverpool Horror Festival.

Event specialists Purple Revolver have previously produced a Rene Magritte inspired flash mob at The Tate and an after party for writer-director Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof UK premiere, which he brought to FACT in 2007.

Bay TV were on hand to produce a short film of the event, which you can watch here (in the portal below this article).

An extended and X-rated version of the zombie flash mob will be released next week.

Purple Revolver Creative Director Andy Johnson said: “We we’re delighted with the response from people wanting to join our army of the undead.

“Invading FACT for Hallowe’en was great fun and we’re very pleased they let us swarm the place.

“The amount of people who wanted to take part was amazing. We must have had close to 150, ranging from students, to lawyers and a Grandma with her eight year old grand-daughter, which shows you how popular zombies are.

“Being dead isn’t the drag it used to be.

“We’d like to especially thank our make up artists, who did a fantastic job and Bay TV for capturing all the madness.”
