Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher is plotting a course to cast Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp in the Beatles film he is producing about their business empire Apple Corps.
The ex-Oasis firestarter is making a biopic exploring the mixed fortunes of The Fab Four’s company, based on Richard DiLello’s book The Longest Cocktail Party.
A life-long Beatles fan, Liam has earmarked Edward Scissorhands hero Johnny as the perfect actor for to play lead role Derek Taylor, the Moptops’ publicist.
Johnny became pals with Liam and brother Noel during the late 1990s. The actor was dating model Kate Moss at the time and contributed to Oasis recording sessions, playing a slide guitar solo on the track Fade In-Out.
Liam said: “Derek Taylor was a dude. He’s up there with Lennon.
“The film script is done. It’s gonna blow people’s minds, man. I’m just waiting to find out when we choose the actors.
“I want Johnny Depp to play Derek.
“It’s got Johnny written all over it, man.”
