Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye will make a cameo in Marvel’s upcoming feature film Thor.

A 20 minute clip of the movie was aired at the recent Cinemacon in Las Vegas. The footage shows Hawkeye, with his familiar bow and arrows, working for S.H.I.E.L.D and attempting to thwart Thor in recovering his hammer.

Superhero Hype has reportedly sneaked a peek at Hawkeye’s costume, which resembles the costume worn by the Ultimates version of the character.

“In the concept art, we see Renner wearing similar dark glasses and a leather outfit with a matching over-the-shoulder leather quill for his arrows.”

Marvel has used the technique of cameoing characters before as a tool to build up their universe and mimicing the crossover technique used in the comic books. Robert Downey Jnr showed up as Tony Stark in The Incredible Hulk and Thor’s hammer was seen in the end credits scene of Iron Man 2.

The Oscar nominee has been cast as Hawkeye in the upcoming Avengers movie, featuring Iron Man, The Hulk and Captain America, and is due for release on May 4th, 2012.

Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins, opens on May 6th.
