Two and a half years ago, the Jurassic Park franchise made a solid comeback to the big screen through the hit sequel Jurassic World which provided plenty of nostalgia and thrills for long-serving fans.
However, the latest chapter of the series will be hitting screens next summer as the dinosaurs return to cause more havoc in the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Following a long wait, the film’s official trailer has finally premiered online.
The plot sees leading heroes Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to Islar Nubar where the T-Rex, raptors and other genetic dinosaurs now roam free after the closure of Jurassic World. But with a volcano set to erupt on the island, the pair face a race against time to rescue the dinosaurs.
Jurassic Park veteran Jeff Goldblum makes a welcoming return to the series as Dr. Ian Malcolm while BD Wong is also back as the cunning Dr. Henry Wu.
Additionally, the film features a number of new cast additions which include Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger, Dad’s Army), Ted Levine (The Silence of the Lambs, Monk), Rafe Spall (Prometheus, Life of Pi), Daniella Pineda (The Originals, The Detour), Geraldine Chaplin (Chaplin, The Impossible) and James Cromwell (Babe, The Green Mile) plus newcomer Justice Smith (Paper Towns, The Get Down).
Behind the camera, JA Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls) helms the follow-up after replacing original director Colin Trevorrow.
Coincidentally, the film’s arrival will come 25 years (!) after the release of the original Jurassic Park way back in 1993. That will certainly make a lot of people feel old!
Set to be one of the biggest films of next year, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released in the UK on June 7th 2018.
