A full-length trailer for Simon Pegg’s new period film Burke And Hare has been posted online.
The story of documents the lives of Edinburgh’s infamous bodysnatchers and also features Andy Serkis in the supporting role.
John Landis has taken on the directorial duties, and judging by this teaser it will be rich with that black comedy he is famed for, as well as the standard gore and horror. Landis famously worked on Michael Jackson’s thriller video and also directed the Blues Brothers with John Belushi.
The movie centres around Burke and Hare who were immigrants to Scotland from in the 1820s. The two malevolent characters got into the business of procuring corpses and selling them for a tidy sum to Edinburgh medical schools.
Their enterprise degenerates into grave robbing and murder as Burke and Hare go to extreme lengths to meet demand and receive their bounty, caring not a jot for the betterment of medical practice at the time.
The film also stars the likes of Jessica Hynes, Isla Fisher, Tim Curry and British comedy legend Ronnie Corbett.
