Joss Whedon confirmed, via his blog, that today marked the first day of production for 2012’s up-coming super-hero, all-star cape fest; The Avengers.
The Buffy creator kept his cards close to his chest however, and comic-heads will be dissapointed that nothing was revealed about the storyline or if we can expect to see anymore lycra wearing supers than have already been announced.
Typing on Sunday Joss wrote, ‘Tomorrow we start shooting (I THINK I’m legally permitted to say that). Day one. That’s right (sic).’
‘We’ll be shooting the pivotal death/betrayal/product placement/setting up the sequel/coming out scene, at the following address: [Marvel Lawyers rush in, take Joss’s keyboard, blowtorch a picture of his family like in Stormy Monday, drink his milkshake, leave the seat up, fluff his pillows, violently unfluff his pillows, leave]. Went too far. My bad.’
The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 3rd, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jnr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L Jackson.
