Rumours have been spreading across the Internet for months, but it has finally been confirmed that a fourth American Pie will hit our screens in 2012.
You can’t be blamed for feeling less than excited about this latest instalment, especially after the staggeringly awful collection of straight to DVD films the franchise has spawned.
Officially titled American Reunion, the film will see the return of the original cast, including Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan and Jason Biggs.
Written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the men behind Harold and Kumar, so expect gross out humour, sexual mishaps and band camp jokes to be pretty high on the agenda.
The story focuses on now married Jim (Biggs) and Michelle (Hannigan), as they deal with becoming first time parents and the drama of attending a high school reunion.
This film has the potential to be what Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups failed to be; a hilarious look at the struggles of growing older and coming to terms with the fact that your glory days are long behind you.
Reunion has a lot to live up to and will be a much hyped return to the teen movie format.
American Reunion is scheduled for release April 6th 2012
