Wesley Snipes has been tipped to reprise his role as Blade for a fourth entry in the hit vampire series.

The Expendables 3 star is in talks to revisit the franchise in a deal worth $3 million, according to New York Daily News.

Snipes last appeared as Blade in 2004’s Blade: Trinity, but the rights to the property are thought to have passed from New Line Cinema to Marvel Studios since then.

Marvel has given no indication that it intends to introduce the vampire slayer to its movie universe, but Trinity director David S Goyer has previously said that a reboot is a strong possibility.

Blade made his first appearance in The Tomb of Dracula #10 in July 1973, and went on to feature in various high-profile Marvel titles including Ghost Rider and Spider-Man.

The character has appeared in three Hollywood movies to date.
