Maze Runner sequel The Scorch trials will be released on 18th September next year.
20th Century Fox confirmed the release date via its Twitter account and debuted teaser artwork for the film on the social network.
Based on the young-adult novel by James Dashner, The Maze Runner has proven to be a smash hit in the US, topping the box office with takings of $32.5 million.
The novel, which has spawned two sequels and a prequel, follows a gang of teenagers who find themselves imprisoned in a vast maze as part of a mysterious test.
Wes Ball, who directed the first instalment, is set to return for the sequel along with cast member Bryce Romero.
The Maze Runner will be released in the UK on 10th October.
