Box office hit The Great Gatsby has helped US jeweller Tiffany & Co. off to a dazzling start in their 175th anniversary year with sales dramatically boosted by the film.

The luxury jewellers designed several pieces for Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby which showcases an array of 20s glamour.

Tiffany & Co have also launched a new Gatsby range celebrating jazz age glamour.

The world’s second largest jewellers have since outdone analysts’ predicted sales for the company.

Worldwide sales of the jewellery have soared, with revenues growing 9% to £592million in the first quarter and profits up 3% to £55million.

Amongst the pieces in the range are a headpiece worn by Daisy (Carey Mulligan) in the film, available for £155,000 and a diamond flower ring that will set you back £678,000.

Michael J. Kowalski, the chairman and chief executive officer of Tiffany, said that the film had resulted in a leap in sales surrounding the debut of the film The Great Gatsby, for which they designed the jewellery.
