The Amazing Spider-Man 3 swinging onto cinemas in 2018

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will be released in cinemas in 2018, Columbia Pictures has announced.

The studio confirmed that the superhero sequel will be preceded by villain-centric spinoff movie Sinister Six on November 11, 2016.

Amazing Spider-Man 3 will see Marc Webb return to the director’s chair and Andrew Garfield reprise his dual role as Peter Parker and Marvel Comics’ iconic webslinger.

Dane DeHaan is also expected to return as the Green Goblin, having debuted as the supervillain in this year’s Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Directed by Drew Goddard, Sinister Six will focus on six villains from the Spider-Man series who form an alliance. The groundwork for the project was laid in Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Columbia Pictures previously announced that a solo movie focusing on Spider-Man villain Venom is in the pipeline.
