Stars of the hit movie Brassed Off Grimethorpe Colliery Band set to blow you away at St George’s Hall

Liverpool’s iconic St George’s hall invite you to join them to watch the real stars of the hit movie Brassed Off, the Grimethorpe Colliery Band when they play The Concert Room on Sunday 10 January.

Formed in 1917 from Grimethorpe in South Yorkshire, they have grown to become a British Institution. Throughout the years the band has racked up a huge selection of awards including 16 Brass in Concert championship titles, 11 times Yorkshire Regional Champions, two English National Championship victories, four times British Open Champions and four times National Champion Brass Band of Great Britain.

The success of the band has been well recognised worldwide to which they have been invited to perform at many high profile events including the FIFA World Cup, BAFTA Awards, BBC Proms, Eurovision Song Contest and the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony as well as a wealth of national and international television/radio appearances.

The Grimethorpe Colliery Band is promising a wonderfully entertaining show with a magnificent programme of popular material including Carnival in Venice, 1812 Overture, Death or Glory, Glenn Miller tribute and of course an extended section of tunes from the hit movie Brassed Off.

The performance will present an unmissable experience, so if you fancy a change to your usual Sunday routine head down to the Concert Room this January.
