Disney have announced they are seeking out two young actors through a casting call that speculators are linking with the new Star Wars film.

Announced by Twitter account @UKopencall the studio asks for a beautiful young woman, between the ages of 17-18, to play a street smart ‘survivor’ who lost her parents – but dreams of bettering her life.

The call also asks for a young man between the ages of 18-23, who will play a smart handsome man, who is unsure of himself, but capable of courage.

No physical description is offered, referring to them as simply Rachel and Thomas. The roles will be cast through open auditions that are due to tour the UK and Ireland throughout November, beginning in Bristol on November 9.

Despite the vague details, this is the closest fans have come to finding out details of the plot and new characters that will feature in the new film.

It remains unclear exactly what role these characters will play, but past movies have sparked wild speculation that the unknown actors will be handed lead roles in the film.

The Star Wars franchise was responsible for launching Mark Hamill to international stardom, after receiving only small bit-parts before to playing Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: A New Hope.

J.J. Abrams is set to direct Star Wars: Episode VII, due for release in 2015. But, with shooting beginning as early as next year it is believed that this will be the only open casting call for the film.
