Rita Ora has revealed she has been cast in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey film adaptation.

The Hot Right Now singer will play Christian Grey’s sister, Mia Grey.

The 23-year-old will star alongside Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who have been cast as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

The Sam Taylor-Johnson directed film will be adapted from the bestselling erotic novel by EL James.

Ora said on Twitter: “It’s official! I’ve been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian’s sister Mia.”

In the novel, Mia Grey is the adopted sister of brothers Christian and Elliot Grey – bubbly, fluent in French and plays the cello.

This will be the singer’s first major role after acting in the 2004 British film Spivs and a cameo part in Fast & Furious 6 this year.

Universal Pictures have recently announced that the film’s release will be pushed back to Valentine’s Day 2015, rather than the original date of August 1 2014.

The delay is partly due to original Christian Grey actor Charlie Hunnam withdrawing from the role of Christian Grey, but also producers hope that the film will be more well received by couples.
