Iconic television character David Brent is finally making his long-awaited debut on the big screen.
Actor Ricky Gervais will reprise the role of the arrogant office manager from acclaimed BBC series The Office in a spinoff film called Life on the Road.
A press release has been issued with regards to what is in store for Brent in the cinematic outing.
“We find out what Brent is doing now and what’s happened in the last 15 years since his redundancy from his beloved Wernham Hogg,” it reads.
“He’s a sales rep now, selling cleaning products up and down the country, but has never really given up on his dream of being a rock star.”
Gervais first portrayed Brent in The Office from 2001 to 2003, with the show garnering worldwide acclaim and several key award wins.
He also made a cameo in the US remake of the show, as well as appearing in a 2013 Comic Relief special.
Filming is due to begin on Life on the Road in 2015 after Gervais finishes his UK comedy tour.
