Marvel have now confirmed the way they will introduce Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following rampant speculation about how what a reboot of the character could look like.

During promo junkets for the Avengers: Age of Ultron, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige confirmed many Spider-Man rumours on the interwebs and added a few more details of his own.

Firstly, the new Spider-Man will be a high school-age Peter Parker. Feige confirmed the long held suspicion to Collider, stating that the studio is looking to cast a 15 to 16-year-old hero.

Secondly, Spider-Man will NOT have an origin story in this iteration, which is no bad thing as we’re maxxed out with Spider-Man origin movies.

Kevin Feige said: “We want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers.

“There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don’t know it yet.”
