Jennifer Lawrence is rumoured to be in talks to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Western The Hateful Eight.

The American Hustle star is in line to play an outlaw named Daisy Domergue in the film, according to Collider.

Set in post-Civil War Wyoming, the film follows a band of bounty hunters who try to find shelter during a blizzard, only to become entangled in a web of betrayal and deception.

Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Amber Tamblyn and Tim Roth have also been linked with the project, which has previously been tipped to enter production as soon as November.

Lawrence’s involvement in Hateful Eight is thought to hinge on whether the filming schedule will fit in with her commitments to David O Russell’s Joy and X-Men: Apocalypse.

Hateful Eight’s development was suspended in January after its screenplay leaked online, but Tarantino has since revived the venture and is looking to fast-track its production.

Tarantino’s last attempt at a Western, Django Unchained, earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
