Wade Wilson wants to capture the hearts of residents of Japan…. with a huge statue of Deadpool lying seductively on a truck.
If you think that come-lay-down, tempting pose looks familiar, it’s because it was the subject in the marketing of the blockbuster flick. That time though, the Merc With a Mouth was lying, in Burt Reynolds fashion, in front f a fireplace on a bearskin rug.
This too is to promote Fox’s Deadpool, which doesn’t open in Japan until June 1. Kotaku reports the statue, which measures nearly 23 feet long, debuted Sunday in Osaka, with stops planned in Nagoya and then Tokyo.
Residents of Regina, Saskatchewan recently launched a petition for a Deadpool statue, perhaps this will fill satisfy their desires. Maybe after seeing Japan’s take on the Marvel antiheo, Mayor Michael Fougere will have a change of heart.
Twitter user: @koranda36 tweeted the #Deadpool in Japanese posting photos of the statue.
