Actor Rupert Friend, who plays Peter Quinn in the popular Showtime series Homeland, has been linked with the role of Agent 47 in the upcoming Hitman sequel.
Friend is due to take over the role from Paul Walker who tragically died in a car crash last year.
The film was originally given the green-light by 20th Century Fox who were excited about Walker’s involvement, but following his death the film’s future fell into uncertainty.
According to sources at Fox, the studio became eager to push ahead with filming following the recent popularity of the video games.
With Friend on board, the film is due to start production this February, with Aleksander Bach making his directing debut.
