Recently delayed biopic Grace of Monaco is set to open at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The film, which stars Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman as the Hollywood actress Grace Kelly, will be the first feature to be screened at the prestige event, which begins in May.
Originally set for release in late 2013, it was delayed for several months because of a dispute between director Oliver Dhan and executive producer Harvey Weinstein about the final cut.
Yesterday, it was pulled from cinematic release, which led to question marks about whether it would be seen by the viewing public.
But, it has finally been confirmed that it will premier on the opening night of Cannes.
The biopic focuses on Kelly’s post-Hollywood career, which includes her marriage to Prince Rainier III of Monaco and her political commitments.
Frank Langella, Tim Roth and Sir Derek Jacobi are amongst the stellar actors who support Kidman in the film.
