A limited edition Star Wars figurine has netted the tidy sum of £18,000 for one lucky fan.
Craig Stevens, 45, paid just £1.50 for the Boba Fett toy back in 1990, and was hoping to raise £10,000 when he put it up for auction.
“I’m amazed at the price, that was absolutely perfect,” he told the Croydon Guardian.
“The money is going to go towards a house for me and my wife. We are looking to move quite soon so that will be perfect to put towards it.
“I hope it will go to a good collector who will look after it and cherish it like I have.”
The Boba Fett figure was sought after as it was in pristine condition and boxed in rare packaging that was only available in the UK for a year.
Bounty hunter Boba Fett is a fan-favourite Star Wars villain, first appearing in The Empire Strikes Back before coming to a nasty end in Return of the Jedi.
George Lucas digitally added the character to the 1997 re-release of A New Hope, and there have been rumours that he could feature in a future Star Wars movie in some capacity now that the franchise has been revived.
