Bill Murray has spoken out in support of a female-led Ghostbusters 3.
Sony Pictures is allegedly mulling over the concept with Bridesmaids filmmaker Paul Feig at the helm, and Murray believes the idea has merit.
The Lost in Translation star, who played Peter Venkman in the first two Ghostbusters films, also named the actresses he would like to see in the new-look team.
“I’m fine with it. I would go to that movie, and they’d probably have better outfits, too,” he told the Toronto Star when asked about female Ghostbusters.
“Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster, and Kristen Wiig is so funny – God, she’s funny!
“I like this girl Linda Cardellini [Mad Men] a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”
Sony is yet to confirm Feig as Ghostbusters 3 director, but the project does appear to be moving ahead, with Ivan Reitman attached as producer.
