Don’t pass up your chance to meet Zoltz Laa! Zoltar’s one and only scouse cousin.

If the name Zoltar rings a bell, you may remember him as the iconic wish-granting machine from the 1988 classic, Big, starring Tom Hanks. The movie will be showing this Saturday at VideOdyssey, Toxteth.

The movie sees 12-year-old Josh Baskin have his wish come true to become ‘big’, waking up as a 30-year-old man and having the chance to live as an adult and land a job in New York City. But all is not what it seems as Josh begins to long for his old life and be a regular kid again.

It’s part of L8 Laffs comedy mini-series, inspired to banish those January blues with a line-up of hilarious classics. The screening will include an extended scene to pay homage to director Penny Marshall, one of the world’s most successful female directors, who passed away in December.
This special immersive screening will show rare deleted scenes from the extended cut, bringing more focus to the movie’s female characters

Audience members will also get to meet Zoltz Laa and possibly a wish granted.

The screening takes place this Saturday at VideOdyssey’s studio cinema, which is based at Toxteth TV, Windsor Street, L8.
