Horror fans are pledging money in the last few hours of a project to see everyone’s favorite serial killer Patrick Bateman belt out a tune on the West End.

The Kickstarter project aims to raise $150,000 to make it a reality, of which they have received almost $145,000 with 13 hours to go.

Based on the iconic cult novel by Bret Easton Ellis American Psycho, it paints the shocking, funny and unsettling portrait of Patrick Bateman, a 26-year-old Manhattan investment banker with a designer lifestyle and a twisted mind.

All money raised will go directly toward enhancing the non-profit production with aims to increase rehearsal time by two weeks and to use a live band instead of pre-recorded sound.

Kickstarter is offering a range of rewards for donators, which vary depending on the size of your donation.

Amongst the prizes are a 1GB Patrick Bateman business card, pre-loaded with Sheik’s track You Are What You Wear and two other demos from the musical.

Or exclusively-designed T-shirts, posters, signed copies of the book and behind-the-scenes tours are also up for grabs.

American Psycho The Musical is set to run at the Almeida Theatre in London from this December.
