British film maker Edgar Wright is set to direct Marvel’s Antman movie, due for release in 2015. Insiders suggest that The World’s End director is close to choosing who will play Henry Pym and his alter ego Antman.

Talking about the film Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige said “He wants to do something very unique with it.

“And Edgar, early on going back years and years when he first was pitching it, pitched it as much as a heist movie as anything else.”

Sources at Marvel have touted Jospeh Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd as the short listed actors to play Antman.

Gordon-Levitt was a frontrunner for the role of Batman in the upcoming Superman Man of Steel sequel.

The Inception star impressed fans of the franchise in his role of John Blake, who eventually inherits the Batcave as Gotham’s protector.

Calls from fans for Joseph to step into the role as Batman went unheard in favour of Affleck.

Following the backlash of Argo actor Ben Affleck being cast as Batman in the highly anticipated Batman Vs Superman movie, it is important that Marvel get this decision right if the new film franchise is to be a success.

Wright has promised a firm decision on who will wear the Antman suit before the year is out. Feige said: “We’re crewing up and prepping. There should be cast announcements, probably before the end of the year.”

For now all we have have is a teaser shot, assumed to be a suit test, posted by Wright on Twitter.
