Imagine Entertainment has reportedly resurrected its plans to develop a movie version of 24.
The studio revisited the idea of bringing Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer to the big screen following the success of recent TV mini-series 24: Live Another Day, according to TVLine.
Imagine chairman Brian Grazer is said to be keen to pitch an idea for a movie version of the show to rights holder 20th Century Fox.
Fox is yet to comment on the reports, but previous remarks from a high-ranking executive at the firm suggest that a cinematic outing for Jack Bauer is indeed a possibility.
“I loved this year’s season of 24,” Fox Networks group chairman and CEO Peter Rice said in July. “I’ve always been a fan. We haven’t had a specific conversation about it coming back yet, but I’m sure we will in the future.
“It’s a wonderful franchise. When you look at the show itself, it has many more stories to tell. I think we need to sit down and talk to the creators.”
24: Live Another Day concluded in July after 12 episodes.
