Eilon Paz is releasing a new book Dust & Grooves, showcasing the worlds of the most dedicated vinyl collectors on the planet.
Whether they are collecting vinyls in order to make great amounts of money one day or whether they are collecting as a love or a passion for music, Dust & Grooves shows us just how dedicated some collectors are.
Eilon Paz is a photographer and part time Dj and in this book, he combines his two loves in order to let us see some of the world’s biggest vinyl collections and learn about their owners.
One of the collectors talked about in the book is Bob George, who lives in New York City at the Archive of Contemporary Music.
‘The original idea behind the archive was sheer hubris—to save two copies of every record ever made. Thirty years later: nemesis.”
The book is 416-pages long and is classed as a ‘coffee table book’ by the website. In other words, it isn’t meant to be read from start to finish but is great to flick through if you have an interest in collectables or vinyls.
The book has a foreword by the RZA and is split into two parts. The first half presents 250 full page pictures with quotes from the collectors themselves and in the second half of the book, readers will fid 12 up-close interviews with the collectors.
Each of the full size pictures is a masterpiece and perfectly captures the vinyl collections and their owners.
A website about the book was created by Eilon in order to give fans an explanation to the idea behind the book.
‘Readers get an up close and personal look at a variety of well-known vinyl champions as well as a glimpse into the collections of known and unknown DJs, producers, record dealers, and everyday enthusiasts.’
The book is on sale now, whic you can buy through dustandgrooves.com
