The International Festival for Businesses is in full swing and Creative Kitchen held their “Meet. Learn. Collaborate.” event aimed at helping Liverpool’s creative and digital sectors.
The Oh Me Oh My tea house, 25 Water Street, played host to the event where guests were greeted with a free cup of tea and a delicious selection of croissants.
The event was set up by Creative Kitchen with the aim of helping creative agencies, freelance artists and small businesses not only meet, learn and collaborate but to also get the most out of their business.
The first speech was delivered by the experienced Chris Merrington with his “Clients Behaving Badly” presentation.
Chris talked about the relationship between businesses and clients. He said: “Client relationships need to be right from day one.”
Delivered expertly and bursting information Chris made a whole manner of points including the importance of both price and client appreciation.
He went on to talk about the pressure of time constraints saying: “Do you want my first ideas or my best ideas?”
Chris was also promoting his book entitled: “Why Do Smart People Make Such Stupid Mistakes?”
A practical negotiation guide to more profitable client relationships for marketing and communication agencies, sales teams and professional service people.
Guests also gave examples of the problems they had faced during their time within the industry.
Lawyer Steve Kuncewicz was next to the stage, giving some very useful information about the protection of intellectual property.
