Introducing Sweden’s Vita Bergen with their new album Disconnection. To be released in April 2016 via Glitterhouse Records in the UK.

Since releasing their debut EP Curtains on a $500 budget in 2014, Vita Bergen has become one of the most talked about bands in Europe. They’ve topped the ITunes charts, performed at sold out venues in Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavia and are being played on national television in the US. They’ve received several awards in Sweden and are believed by many to be the next big thing on the European indie scene.

Singer William Hellström has been described as a cult leader on speed and co-founder Robert Jallinder as one of Scandinavia’s most eccentric guitarists. Their intense, often chaotic live shows have left the band with concussions, nails in their feet and slashed fingers – and still they say they make pop music. The band’s main influences include acts such as MGMT, Pink Floyd, The Jesus & Mary Chain and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

”You know the feeling when you are so proud of finding a new band that you tell all your friends about them so you can claim them?” – Vice

“One of Sweden’s most promising new talents, blindingly bright refrains and soaring vocals echo alongside forceful rhythms and an ominously driving bassline” – The Line of Best Fit

”One of Sweden’s underground success stories” – Clash Magazine

With William studying Medicine in Gothenburg and Robert training to be a psychologist in Stockholm, a lot of their work is done by a combination of phone calls and regular travels by the two. Disconnection however is the result of 3 summers spent by the two men isolated in an old cabin in a forest, cutting off any contact via cell phones or internet.

The passing of several close relatives in this period also impacted heavily upon the recording process, and played a role in the final outcome and angle of the album.

Vita Bergen has emerged from Sweden’s warehouse scene where they first made a name for themselves, headed by two compelling artists who’ve left their former lives as straight A-students behind for the rush this special band brings.
