The 1975 have announced their largest headlining tour to date after they sold out every show of their last tour.

The Manchester quartet will be touring across the UK and North America including a stop at London’s Alexandra Place on September 30th.

If you want to get your hands on tickets before general release, sign up to the band’s mailing list via http://zaphod.uk.vvhp.net/vvreg/7924-334160. You will then be able to buy tickets online at 9.00am on Wednesday 4th of June. General release starts later on in the week on the 6th.

The band have been on tour for the last five months, performing in UK and Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, mainland Europe and North America.

Their self entitled debut album reached number one in the charts and contains songs about ‘memories, overheard conversations, and snapshots in time.’ It has been described as ‘a love letter to youth, played out in bold and brash technicolor.’

Their latest single ‘Robbers’ is described by lead vocalist Matty Healy as a ‘heist gone wrong.’

‘I got really obsessed with the idea behind Patricia Arquette’s character in True Romance when I was about eighteen. That craving for the bad boy in that film it’s so sexualised. It was something I was obsessed with. ‘Robbers’ is about a heist that goes wrong – I suppose you can read it as a metaphor – and a girl who’s obsessed with her professional killer boyfriend. It’s a romantic ideal.’
