After deciding that the music industry was lacking the space for individual artists to explore their vibes without the complexity of large-scale collaborations, the Scandi Tape Machines decided to cut the middleman and create a space for artists to meet them and make music both easily and naturally.

Consisting of 2 Stockholm based producers, 2 minds tired of the industries complications, a whole host of skills and 1 simple joint desire to release good music, Tape Machines are ready to continue on their sonic voyage, this time featuring the up and coming pop act Sam Seg.

Following their debut ‘Dirty Linen Sheets’ single, the dream-team released their second piece of work into the pop stratosphere on 9th June in the form of single ‘Stupid’.

When asked what ‘Stupid’ is about, Fredrik Jansson and Simon Gribbe say: “It is about that feeling when you’ve met someone that you deep down know is gonna get you burned. It’s about that time when you choose to ignore the little thoughtful person on your shoulder saying – ‘She’s gonna hurt you, and I’ll hate to say I told you so’. Looking back, you can’t help but feeling stupid. So s.t.u.p.i.d.”

We can all relate to that now, can’t we… Now add that story to the pure Swedish pop of the highest quality topped with world-class production, super catchy melodies (yes, you can totally sing along to them) and you get the essence of what “Stupid” represents. The passionate-for-pop producers agreeing once again that music should be a means of exploration add- “Music seems to be the only sane thing in this world nowadays”.

“Stupid” is available via all the usual outlets now. Have a listen, learn from your mistakes and… just don’t be stupid.
