With Southport Rocks kicking off tomorrow and only a few tickets left, the festival organisers have given Purple Revolver readers an exclusive discount ticket offer. See below.
Headlined on Friday by The Lancashire Hotpots and the following day by The Futureheads, the festival as well as expanding to a two day event is also offering full weekend camping this year.
Tickets for the event are priced at £15 Friday, £20 Saturday and £49 for both days, include camping.
Taking place in Victoria Park, the site is a five minute walk from Lord St. Train Station and the Victorian splendour of the shopping arcades.
It is also situated ten minutes walk from Southport Beach and has excellent transport links.
The family friendly, not-for-profit event will include the newly created Marketplace, which will host a selection of stalls, including a vintage clothing fair, international cuisine and a range of differently themed bars.
Mixed in with the headliners are a selection of classic covers bands and in another first, there is a dance tent, effectively offering revellers three stages across the site.
Headlining the Saturday, Sunderland’s finest The Futureheads have gained a reputation as a live band par excellence. Veterans of innumerable festivals including several shows at Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds, the four-piece are one of the finest British bands to have emerged over the past decade.
The quartet’s last gig in the region was an adrenaline fuelled set at a sold-out Shipping Forecast in Liverpool in December.
NME approved rockers Sly Digs and Steve Lamacq championed Ute also feature on the bill.
The cream of Liverpool’s bands are also present at the event, with Owls*, The Wild Eyes, Dead Cities and Bird all appearing.
