Having already announced some of the biggest music names in the world set to come to the legendary READING & LEEDS FESTIVAL in 2012, the cast list just gets better with the hugely influential Festival Republic Stage line-up being confirmed.

Hosting a mixture of classic artists with countless hits under their belts, to bands making their debut festival appearances this is a stage where the stars of tomorrow can find themselves playing to the biggest crowd of their career to date.

The likes of Kasabian, Florence and The Machine, Black Keys, At the Drive In, All Time Low, The Maccabees, You Me at Six, and Bombay Bicycle Club all dominating the other stages this year started off here.

SLEIGH BELLS, FEEDER & YOUNG GUNS, THE VIEW and a very special closing DJ set from BASSNECTAR are our headliners. They will join FUTUREHEADS (playing an a capella & acoustic set) and THE SUBWAYS alongside over thirty other acts who have secured a slot on this coveted stage with psychedelia courtesy of the likes of S.C.U.M. and TOY, classic songwriters like BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH and LUCY ROSE and rock sensibilities from LOWER THAN ATLANTIS and DON BROCO amongst many more.

Cornwall folk-punks quartet CROWNS have also been added as the opening act on the Lock Up Stage on Friday in Leeds and Sunday in Reading.

These acts join FOO FIGHTERS, THE CURE, KASABIAN, THE BLACK KEYS, PARAMORE, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE, THE MACCABEES, SOCIAL DISTORTION, AT THE DRIVE-IN, JUSTICE, ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES, GRAHAM COXON, MASTODON, PASSION PIT, MARK LANEGAN BAND, LESS THAN JAKE, ANTI FLAG, METRONOMY and KATY B over the August Bank Holiday at Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds.

Many more names are still to be announced including the full line-up for the BBC Introducing Stage and the Alternative Stage.
