Ortise Williams says he is drawing inspiration from the late and great Amy Winehouse to help him forge a career as a top music mogul.
A supporter of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the JLS singer said he has always been a fan of the late singer.
He claims that working for her management company early on in his career gave him an early appreciation of the soul star.
Studying her groundbreaking album Back to Black from start to finish, Ortise admits he’s a fan.
“Amy is one of my biggest inspirations. you can learn a lot from her music. I’m obsessed with Back to Black. I’ve studied that album and I’m a fan.”
With JLS calling an end to a successful career forged in the pop industry, the X Factor made star is lining himself up to become the next big music mogul.
He admits that friend Simon Cowell has been a big influence on his career, but feels more inspired by rap, motown and soul producers.
He said: “Simon Cowell is a great guy but my inspirations are Jay Z, Diddy, Russell Simmons and Berry Gordy of Motown.”
