Belfast duo New Portals have unveiled their latest single ‘WinterSkin’, due for release on December 2nd.
The single finds the pair evoking seasonal chills, with big rolling synths and dark bass rumbles alongside icy key chimes.
The new single tops a year that has seen a string of stunning songs from New Portals, including ‘Cage’, ‘Stay Here Tonight’, ‘Groove Boy’ and ‘Skyline’. The tracks have seen the band become one of the most promising and highly acclaimed new acts to come from Ireland today.
Throughout 2016, New Portals have had big support from Radio 1, with Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens particularly big champions of the band, while they’ve also made the playlists of Spotify and gained regular in-store rotation at Starbucks, H&M, Co-Op and MAC Cosmetics. They have also received high profile support from the likes of The Guardian, Line Of Best Fit, Missguided, Pretty 52, 1883 and many more besides.
The band have just returned from a mini-tour of three shows in New York, where they played intimate gigs across Manhattan and Brooklyn in galleries and magical rooftop settings.
While they wrap up the year with a fiery statement on ‘WinterSkin’, the band are looking forward to some very exciting prospects in 2017 on both sides of the Atlantic.
