Moats are a four-piece indie rock band from Biggleswade with deep, energetic riffs and lyrics sung by a lead singer whose vocal style is irreproducible.
Influenced by Jeff Buckley, The Cure & Echo & The Bunnymen, Moats combine a raw, homegrown sound with powerfully Their track ‘Rough’ was licensed to the 8ON7 tape for Cassette Day 2014 on Rough Trade US alongside Hooton Tennis Club and Spring King. Having been voted the number one band to see at Liverpool Sound City 2015 by Get Into This as well as playing Austin City Limits Festival in Texas.
From the band: “We wanted to keep the song as spacious as possible so each element of the track could be heard individually as well as within the song as a whole. We spoke about what emotions we wanted to portray and particularly focused on making sure that in each section the music reflected the lyrics – Lyrically the song focuses on craving something really badly and constantly honest lyrics, passion & integrity.last year through NME, Moats are a band necessary to see live working hard towards feeding that craving”
