Madonna, the original Material Girl and Queen of Pop will join Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez on-stage during Gucci’s Sound of Change concert in London.
The singer is the latest in a line of high-profile presenters confirmed to appear at Twickenham Stadium, alongside Jessica Chastain, Blake Lively, Freida Pinto, Zoe Saldana and James Franco.
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter – who is also artistic director of the concert – and J.Lo will both perform a set, as will Florence and the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and HAIM.
All proceeds from the four-hour event will go towards Gucci’s Chime for Change charity – an initiative founded by Beyoncé, Salma Hayek-Pinault and Frida Gianini. The charity’s aim is to highlight women’s issues globally, calling for better education, health and justice.
Madonna said: “60% of the children in the world not in school are girls. 2/3 of the world’s illiterate are women! I do not accept this. We need to change this and we will change this!”
Queen Bey said: “I am really happy that so many amazing artists and presenters have come together to support Chime for Change on June 1. Our goal is to have a great time together while we unite and strengthen the voices of girls and women around the world.”
The Sound of Change concert takes place on June 1 at Twickenham Stadium.
