Madison Beer has released her latest single “Showed Me (How I Fell In Love With You)”, which premiered on BBC’s Radio 1 last week. “Showed Me” is the most recent track to come from Madison’s forthcoming project, the follow up to her smash debut Life Support. The official video for “Showed Me” also recently debuted with a premiere on MTV.
The provocative throwback visual for “Showed Me” finds Madison in the role of a true femme fatale. With looks from Laquan Smith, Balenciaga, and Tom Ford’s Gucci, the video sees Madison taking back power from an unsuspecting playboy. The swaggering single, co-written by Madison, and video usher in a new era for the artist, one that sees her expanding her sonic boundaries and creative vision.
“Writing and making the video for ‘Showed Me’ was a really unique experience,” explains Madison. “This song samples The Turtles ‘You Showed Me.’ I’ve never used sampling or interpolation on a song before, but I’m always looking for new ways to experiment in the studio and pay homage to the classic sounds and melodies I loved growing up. This song is the perfect culmination of those things.”
“Showed Me” comes hot on the heels of Madison’s most recent release “Dangerous” – an emotional soaring ballad featured on more than 30 New Music Friday playlists across DSPs upon release. It also follows the singer songwriter’s critically acclaimed debut at Reading & Leeds Festival over the summer and her sold-out headline UK and European tour in the Spring.
Prior to “Dangerous” Madison broke her personal best streaming week debut on Spotify with the release of “Reckless,” which currently has over 251 million streams on the platform and over 45 million views on YouTube.
Following unprecedented success as an independent artist, rising pop star Madison Beer released her major label album debut Life Support, in early 2021. Debuting at no. 1 on US iTunes, no. 1 on Spotify’s US Album Chart, no. 2 on Spotify’s Global Album Chart and in the top 30 of the UK Official Albums Chart, the album received critical acclaim from the likes of V Magazine, Nylon, and NME who called it a “thrilling listen”. Life Support features certified platinum singles “Selfish” and “Boyshit”, which Billboard said “makes a late case for one of the best pop chorus openings of 2020.” A strong personal and artistic statement, the album saw Madison continue to be at the helm of her artistry through writing her own songs, producing, and creating her own visuals.
Over the years Madison has proven herself as a powerful brand partner, most recently as an ambassador for Fenty Beauty. Previously she partnered with Morphe Cosmetics to create a signature line, which was showcased in her edition of Vogue’s marquee video series “Beauty Secrets.” Her episode became one of the highest performing installments with over 12 million views on YouTube and went viral on TikTok, selling out the Morphe products featured globally for 6 months. Madison is also the face of Victoria’s Secret’s line of Tease Fragrances, with a campaign shot by legendary photographer Mario Sorrenti.
Currently, Madison has over 4.2 billion streams across her catalogue globally and commands a highly engaged social following of over 32 million on Instagram, 18 million on TikTok, and 3 million on Twitter.
