Liverpool Sound City has unveiled the first wave of acts for its seventh year. An eclectic live bill including Kodaline, Gruff Rhys, F**k Buttons and Clean Bandit, who achieved their first UK number one single this week with Rather Be.

The music festival is set to return this year for three days and nights from 1-3 May.

Further acts, including Jungle, Wolf Alice, Darlia, Circa Waves, Thumpers and more will play multiple venues across the city with further performers to be announced next month.

The Velvet Underground’s John Cale and Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth have been announced as keynote speakers at the conference strand of the event.

CEO David Pichilingi is delighted to be taking the festival to the next level and promises it will be an event not to be missed. He said:

“It’s shaping up to be the best Sound City to date. We have always strived to bring the best to Liverpool and we have definitely delivered this year on both the live and conference side.”

Festival wristbands are currently available on the website at the early bird price of £44 until February, 3.
